Multi Level Marketing (MLM) - it’s usually either loved or hated depending on who you are talking to. Personally, I’ve not seen any MLM programs that have really caught my fancy - but at the same time, I have been involved in them at one time or other, and if you strongly dislike the idea of joining one, you might want to rethink that.

Probably the best known MLM program is Amway - it’s been around for years and it’s helped some people become successful while others absolutely detest it. Sometimes I’ve heard of stories where someone will want to bring up the subject of a “financial opportunity,” and the first question that is asked is, “Is it Amway?” Of course, Amway some Amway distributors will respond to that, “What is Amway? Tell me more about it…” or something along those lines.

To be fair, some have reported some unpleasant experiences with MLM programs including Amway. However, often it is not the plan itself, but the manner in which “the plan” was marketed or the way it was explained to a potential recruited person who then signs up and gets involved.

But there are some things to consider about an MLM if you are looking for ways to increase your income. (And no, I am not trying to recruit you - I’m not involved in any MLM programs right now!). Good MLM programs will teach you a lot, if you are prepared to learn, about goal setting, goal achievement, working with teams, personal motivation and general business practices. The one thing about an MLM that is true is that there is a strong desire by your “upline” to help you become successful as it helps them become successful. And if you have a strong desire to help and assist others on their way to achieving their goals, you will in all likelihood, reap from what you’ve sown.

MLM programs are certainly not for everyone. But if you’re looking for a place to start as far as improving your financial well-being as well as skills in achieving goals, sales, and personal motivation, you might want to consider getting involved in one - if you are prepared to learn.
