I was browsing some sites on the Entrecard Network a few moments ago and came across Janet Giacoma’s post asking “Since When Is a Business Interruption Welcomed?” Janet and I must have a similar schedule in some ways - last month when I was away in Jasper, Alberta, she was off touring too.

I’ve just enjoyed a “business interruption” myself, and have returned from a very pleasant and enjoyable three days in Whitecourt, Alberta. Whitecourt is a small town of about 7,000 people between Edmonton and Grande Prairie, Alberta and at a northern latitude of  54° 09′N, the sunsets are long and beautiful with daylight hours in the summer time still lingering until after 10:30PM at this time of the year.

I love long sunsets and especially at this time of the year when there are over 17 hours with at least some sunlight. And especially enjoyable with a Pretty Colleen!  But it can be problematic sleeping when you are used to going to bed a few hours after sunset - and perhaps a bit longer than that while enjoying time away from work - and finding yourself doing just that, seeing the sunlight begin to creep up over the horizon and realize you haven’t been to bed yet!

Once again, there were many highlights to my short “business interruption,” but one of them you may be interested in if you enjoy good wine. Colleen was mentioning seeing a wine recently in a very unique bottle - and I had a feeling immediately that it was probably La Fiole  du Pape Chateauneuf-de-Pape.  After some discussion, I realized that this was indeed the wine Colleen was referring to and assured her that it was not just the unique bottle - but the content inside that bottle was also absolutely wonderful.  It is not always I’ll buy a $30.00 or more bottle of wine - but the circumstances were right for enjoying such a quality wine, and we discovered that one of the local liquor stores had it in stock.

Mmmm.. watching the sun set after a warm sunny day, that included a long walk in a beautiful park, wonderful company, sipping Chateauneuf-de-Pape - what a delight!

Now I’m back in Southern Ontario and ready to get back to work.  I hope you had a great weekend yourself and are making your own memories, and not forgetting what it is exactly you work for.
