In our business, customers are charged for diagnostic time before work is performed in some cases. In other words, we're being paid for our time and not necessarily our work. Yes, I did not think about possible savings on clothing, dry cleaning and laundry. Actually for me, that was an additional expense as my previous job supplied what I had to wear while working. It sort of "scares" me when people think with one or two weeks ( or months) under their belt with a new venture they are ready to leave their "day job" without any realistic planning. Also, another area I saved money once I started working from home were clothing costs. It's much easier on the pocketbook to dress casual and have the business attire for occasional meetings instead of daily necessity! As always, some great common sense advice. I made having a home-based business my career goal years ago because I knew that it would free me up to do more of the things I wanted to do, since I didn't have to spend 3 hours on the road everyday like the rest.The flexibility of my schedule has also meant having a better quality of life. That means much more to me than the corner office with the view and everything that comes with it. I couldn’t have said it better!
