“The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese”

~ Unknown

Ever have a feelings of discouragement when you have an idea for something but someone else beats you to it? Perhaps you’ve even done some planning and worked to releasing a new product or service only to find out another has had a similar idea and now you’re up against competition you hadn’t planned on. More below:

I was reading “The Capitalist Guide” earlier, and feel for him as he just experienced that himself. I don’t know what exactly he was working on, but I admire his attitude toward the developments. But instead of worrying about being the “early bird,” he’s taking the attitude of being the second mouse getting the cheese.

Just because someone else has beat you to the punch, find ways to make the product or service better. Make yours more valuable. In some situations, it might even be worthwhile to partner up with your competition if you can if that opportunity is available.
