Where I live now, we can get "Fish and Chips" where the chips are similar to what I had in Northern Ireland. There have been a few discussions on the chip/French fry/crisp distinctions. I maintain that fries, whether fried in France or the US/Canada are not quite the same ie quite a bit more finely cut, than the traditional British chip. Splitting hairs no doubt.
