Sir Ronald Reagan? A former President of a nation that had previously rebelled against the monarch being knighted by a monarch?
More below:
Ronald Reagan was President of the United States of America from 1981 to 1989. As is the case with most political figures, he was both loved and hated.
On June 13th, 1989, Ronald Reagan was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. It was an honorary knighthood into the Knight Grand Cross Order Of The Bath, and therefore official protocol means that Ronald Reagan could not use the title “Sir,” although he could have used the letters “GCB” after his name.
The Order of the Bath comes from the very old tradition that included bathing as a ceremony in preparation for knighthood.
One other American President has been knighted by a British Monarch: George H. W. Bush.

The Wealthy Blogger is just a guy who makes money online. I quit my full time job and now I earn a good (some would say very good) income through the amazing medium of the Internet. I know what it’s like to be poor. I know what it takes to drag one’s self up by the bootstraps and keep putting one foot in front of the other to get where you want to go....
