At 20,320 feet above sea level, Mt. McKinley is the highest point in North America. Although Everest is higher, Mt. McKinley has a greater “rise” than Everest.

In 1913, Hudson Stark, the Archdeacon of the Episcopal Church in Yukon, Alaska lead a party that started out in March of 1913. Although Stark was the leader of the climbing party, he was not the first of the party to reach the summit: Walter Harper was the first.

It was a tough journey for the climbers with many challenges including a fire at one of their camps. This was a serious setback as both food and supplies were destroyed.

However, the group did reach their goal.

If you really want to get somewhere, just make sure that every step you take will lead you to your goal.
