I have just learned that Jon of “The Ups, Downs and Sometimes Insane World of Freelance Writing” is grieving the passing of his father. Unless one has lost a father, it is hard to know exactly what a son is going through at a time like this. Well, I can imagine what Jon must be going through.
Jon and I have had some correspondence in the past and perhaps one day on a trip back “home,” I’ll get to meet Jon. He lives in my home country of Northern Ireland and corresponding with him has been enjoyable. He also graciously provided this site with a very nice review sometime ago.
Jon’s father apparently suffered a heart attack on Christmas Eve which meant that his Christmas was obviously not the most joyous. However, apparently the prognosis for his father was looking up and Jon and his family were looking forward to their father and granda being released from hospital. So I am sure it must have been with some shock as well as the desparate sadness that goes along with the death of a loved one.
I’d like to offer my deepest sympathies to Jon and I’d encourage you to drop by his site and offer any words of encouragement that you might have.

The Wealthy Blogger is just a guy who makes money online. I quit my full time job and now I earn a good (some would say very good) income through the amazing medium of the Internet. I know what it’s like to be poor. I know what it takes to drag one’s self up by the bootstraps and keep putting one foot in front of the other to get where you want to go....
Hi, thank you very much for your kind words a condolences. Very much appreciated. Yes, Christmas was a non-starter for all of us this year. My father’s death came as something of a shock, and even though I had prepared myself for the worse, I wasn’t prepared enough when it happened. However things are gradually returning to normal, though my father will always be missed.
